I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
